Here at Mill Lodge we pride ourselves on having a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We have an experienced team, most of whom have worked at Beechwood for more than 10 years.

We offer a loving and caring environment for children from six weeks to 11 years in our baby room, tweenies and preschool including government funded sessions.

Government funded sessions are limited and available on a first come first served basis. You must meet the eligibility criteria and complete necessary application processes by the deadline provided by Solihull Metropolitan Council. Please contact us for more information.

We also offer a wraparound service for Mill Lodge School Nursery and an Out of School Club offering a service not only before and after school, but also whenever school is closed. This service is open to children aged three to eleven even if they don’t attend Mill Lodge school.

We operate from purpose built, self-contained accommodation on the school site, open Monday to Friday all year except bank holidays and for a week at Christmas. We are open from 7.30am to 6.00pm.

The baby room has a very relaxed atmosphere. Our children have a great deal of fun doing a variety of activities from the not so messy to the very, very messy, including painting, sand, water and jelly play! We have lots of free play activities – we choose but if the children don’t think these are good enough, they go and help themselves to something else. You can imagine the room with up to nine babies in it!

We know that babies will not all be in the same routines but you don’t need to worry, you just tell us your child’s routine and we work the day around them. Every child in the nursery has a keyworker to ensure their individual needs are being met so you can be assured your child enjoys the same routines that they do at home. We are always happy to discuss any aspect of your child’s day with you at any time. Call in for a cup of tea and a chat!

Our older children continue to benefit from the warm homely atmosphere and a carefully planned curriculum that takes each child’s interests into account. The children have free access to the nursery’s many resources and this approach to learning means they have fun learning through play.

Our garden is safe and enclosed and offers lots of excitement. We can ride bikes, build dens and make our own obstacle course or bridge or anything else the children can think of. The garden has a large raspberry bush that produces fruit throughout the summer and fruit trees which are not quite large enough to bear fruit yet.

For children of school age, we have an out of school club, which operates all year round. Children are encouraged to join in with a whole range of activities and fun is guaranteed. Our team have wonderful creative ideas and the children join in with great enthusiasm. We are open all school holidays and children can make friends with children from other schools. They all enjoy plenty of freedom, under our careful supervision of course.
