Sessions, Fees & Funding

Schedule of Fees

To comply with Local Authority requirements, we have to show a lot of information regarding fees. This can look complicated, but we hope you scan the information below to quickly find what you need for your circumstances. You should note that we are open all year round except for a week between Christmas and New Year and offer full-time places as standard. Funding is only available for the 38 weeks of school terms, but if you opt for full-time attendance, we stretch the funding over 51 weeks. We have:

  • Broken down our pricing into regular fees without any funding, full- or part-time fees supported by funded hours, funded hours with additional paid-for hours and funded hours only
  • Shown optional costs of food, consumables, activities and premium services where any funded hours are included
  • Identified sessions that enable you to make the most of your funded hours
  • Included examples to show how some of the fee calculations

You should read this schedule of fees alongside our other relevant policies and if you have any questions you should contact the setting of your choice for further assistance or clarification.

The table below sets out our standard fees and rates. Where children are entitled to Government funded hours, these are provided free of charge for childcare and education. The table notes additional optional fee rates for meals and consumables. Any additional hours must be paid for.

What is Government Funding

The Government makes funding available for either 15 or 30 hours per week during school terms only, starting in September each year. This is 38 weeks per year. You have to apply for the funding. Check if you are eligible here https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working/check-youre-eligible. Your child may become eligible through the school year in September, January or April.

Although the funding is for 38 weeks of the year, the funded hours can be spread over 12 months from September to August. If you are entitled to receive 15 hours per week for 38 weeks, your entitlement is a total 570 funded hours per year. Those entitled to 30 hours per week have a total 0f 1140 funded hours per year. Please talk to the officer in charge to understand how this can work for your particular requirements, even if your child is starting later than September.

Funded sessions are always in great demand. Please speak to the officer in charge when you visit the nursery with your child to determine what sessions are available and how we can meet your requirements.

How Can You Use Government Funding

We are a full-service day nursery offering childcare and education all year round. Most of our children are with us for full days and full weeks for the whole year, but we have some places available for term time only (38 weeks). Our morning sessions are from 8am until 1pm. Our afternoon sessions are from 1pm until 6pm. We have some places available from 9am to 12pm or 9.00am to 3.00pm.

Chargeable additional hours or sessions can be used to make a school day or a full day.

Children attending full-time for the year can use their funded hours to reduce their nursery costs. For example:

“Tax-Free” Childcare Accounts

All of our settings are Ofsted registered childcare providers, which means we accept tax-free payment for childcare.

Tax-free childcare is a government initiative designed to help working parents with the costs of childcare.

Working parents of children aged under 12 can access Tax-Free Childcare by opening an online account via the government website www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare to pay for registered childcare. For every 80p that parents pay into the account, the government will top-up an extra 20p. Parents can receive up to £2,000 per child, per year or £4,000 for disabled children.

Tax-free childcare can be a great option for you and your family to save money on childcare costs. However, we strongly advise parents to ensure they have read all the advice in relation to what is best for them and whether they should move from an existing scheme.

The government’s Childcare Choices website – https://beststartinlife.gov.uk/ – will guide you through your options for childcare costs support. It provides access to the application process for the childcare accounts and funding entitlement – make sure you are ticking the correct boxes for your situation.

Eligibility for funding hours is determined by HMRC, and parents should check their own eligibility through the relevant government website. The website https://beststartinlife.gov.uk/ offers you the opportunity to compare what is best for your family.

Extract from our Terms and Conditions

Registration Fees

£20 (non-refundable) per child. The registration fee is credited to your account for funded places. Once a place has been offered and accepted, a deposit representing 4 week’s fees is payable (nursery only not applicable to fully funded places) This is deducted from the last month’s fees but is not returnable if a place is subsequently cancelled. No offer of a place is made until receipt of the completed registration form and registration fee. Payment of your deposit guarantees your place and entitles you to settling-in visits. We always recommend children attend at least one settling-in visit with a parent to help them to meet their carers and feel comfortable with their surroundings.

Fees

Nursery fees are payable for 51 weeks of the year which includes bank holiday closures. The nursery closes for one week between Christmas and new year, for which we make no charge. One month’s notice of leaving is required or one month’s fees in lieu of notice may be paid. For children receiving grant funding this notice period is extended to up to one term’s notice but should always be at the end of a term.

Allocation of Places

Our Admissions Policy outlines further detail of allocation of places.

Snacks, Lunch & Refreshments

Breakfast, mid-morning and afternoon snacks and refreshments are included within the daily fees. Hot Lunches are included where indicated or can be purchased as extras if required.

Parents may supply packed lunches subject to our Healthy Eating Policy if they prefer but no reduction in fees is possible where this is included in the price for the place.

Additional Hours

Where additional hours are required, these may be booked at current hourly rate.

Late Collection/Non-booked hours

If you are late collecting your child from any session and you have not pre-booked additional hours, the rate per 15 minutes per non-booked hours will be charged. This applies to all sessions.

Invoicing

Invoices are produced each month based on these prices. All invoices are now emailed to parents. It is your responsibility to inform us if an invoice has not been received. Please pay on or before the due date.

Please refer to our policies and procedures for more details or speak to the officer in charge at your chosen setting if you have any questions or concerns.

Terms & Condition are subject to change without prior notice.
