Beechwood at St Alphege Juniors

We offer before and after school care from 7:40am until school starts and from the end of school until 6pm, Monday to Friday within term time. We operate within in the school in two class rooms; the music classroom and the Phizz lab. The children can ease into school with a relaxing morning, starting off with a healthy breakfast consisting of cereals, toast, fresh fruit and water whilst catching up with friends. From 3pm until 6pm, the children will come from school and sit down to have an afternoon snack followed by activities and games. Our afternoon snacks vary from day to day and include an array of fruits, vegetables, salads and a few home comforts for the winter such as beans on toast and soup.

All of our team members are first aid trained, health and safety and food hygiene approved. Iwona, our supervisor, is highly qualified and has a Masters degree in Teaching. All staff continually improve their personal development and ensure they are up to date with current legislation.

Our club offers a large range of activities in a fun and lively environment. These include cooking, gardening, science experiments, arts and craft, sports and role play. We celebrate all festivals and celebrations and decorate our rooms accordingly. We invite parents for tea and cakes (cakes are professionally made by our children!) and join in with the festivities. We enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. We are currently starting our herb garden and hope to extend our gardening abilities in the near future! Our children are free to complete homework, read and relax, chat with their friends or participate in activities and games. The choice is theirs!

The children work with our motivating team members to come up with fun and exciting activities to try out in a safe and positive environment. Team members are always around to make sure that all the children are happy and entertained. Children are encouraged to talk to children they may not have the opportunity to during school hours.

There is a suggestion box for both parents and children on our reception table where they can express any thoughts and feelings on how we can improve our practice and quality of care. This supports our Parental Involvement Policy.

We look forward to meeting you!
